Born in Hamamatsu, Japan in 1987, having graduated from the Toho Gakuen School of Music, Arisa Kobayashi is now studying under the instruction of Prof. Pascal Devoyon at the Berlin University of Arts (UDK).
Prior to this she has been awarded or chosen in numerous competitions or auditions including the Japan Classical Music Competition and the Piano Teacher’s National Association of Japan auditions. In 2003 she was awarded the third prize in All Japan Music Competition for Students and in 2005 received Special Music Award at the Courchevel International Music Academy in Tomobe. In the same year she received rave reviews on her performance of Rachmaninoff’s 2nd piano sonata in Kioi Hall, Tokyo. In 2006, she appeared as a guest artist of New York Philharmonic Orchestra’s members in Tokyo and had a big success by playing the Mendelssohn Piano Trio No.1. To date she has received instruction from Michiko Okamoto, Kazuyo Ueda, Kei Ito and Hiroshi Arimori.
